Parameter Dialog Box

In the Parameter dialog box you make the following settings for the image of the scanned yarn:

Parameter

Inverted

Processing yarns on white background with high contrast.

Brightness

Make settings for the brightness.

Denoise

Make settings for the noise suppression.

Straighten

Straighten the view of the yarn.

Smoothen

Smooth out the thread delimitation of the view.

Indent

Narrow the thread delimitation of the view.

Supress Moiré Pattern

In the fabric view, it is possible to get moiré patterns with a low zoom.

Supress Moiré Pattern reduces this effect in the view of the pattern.

Since it is a visual presentation, it is recommended to simply adjust the parameter until you get the desired view.
Make the settings of the parameters in order from top to bottom if possible and then readjust as necessary.

Color Definition

Three options of the Color Definition Mode:

Color Picking

Alpha Reference
Select points in the yarn that are suitable for alpha matching.

Color References
For each color of the yarn, select a reference point that identifies that color.

The quantity of assigned colors corresponds to the colors which will be available in the colorways of the yarn properties.

Color Wheel

  • You can specify color ranges in the outer ring of the color wheel.
    • Therefore, click the desired position within the outer ring.
    • Examples in the image: (1), (2), (3) + (4)
      With this four color ranges, you can create colorways for 4 colors in the yarn properties.
  • There are colored handles on the outside of this border.
    • With it, you can move the boundaries between the color ranges as desired.
    • As long as you click on a handle, only that color range is displayed in the view.
    • This makes it easy for you to identify and understand the result.
  • The inner circle represents the white area of the yarn.
    • You can pull-up the white area with the separator line as desired.
    • With it, you can expand or reduce the area of the yarn covered by the color white as desired.

Auto Color Selection

The color selection is recorded automatically.

Set the background color.

Zoom

Define the zoom of the view.
