General settings

The following specifications serve only as information about the yarn type.
It has no effect on the visual presentation of the yarn in the fabric view.

Name

Enter a name for the yarn.

Composition

Describe the composition of the yarn.

Manufacturer

Enter the manufacturer of the yarn.

Comment

Enter a comment.

Yarn Thickness

Enter the yarn thickness and the corresponding unit of measure.

The following specifications serve the visual presentation of the yarn in the fabric view:

Twist

Enter the twist and the direction of the twist (S or Z).

The larger the value the stronger is the yarn twisted.
Maximum: 200

Stitch Geometry

Select the stitch geometry between Version 1 and Version 2.

  • Version 1:
    • Activate Uniform Stitch Geometry .
    • - or -
    • Specify the specific stitch geometry at the needle loop, needle legs and transition, both inside and outside.
  • Version 2:
    • Uniform Stitch Geometry is active automatically.
    • Specify the core geometry.

Stitch Geometry by %

The stitch geometry determines the yarn thickness.
This value affects the entire stitch uniformly.
Maximum: 300

  • If Uniform Stitch Geometry is switched off, then the yarn thickness can be defined differently for the different areas of the stitch.
  • But if the Stitch Geometry by % value is modified after, then all areas are adapted to this value.

Uniform Stitch Geometry

The Stitch Geometry by % value affects the entire stitch uniformly.

Only available with Stitch Geometry Version 1.

Uniform Stitch Geometry

The yarn thickness can be defined differently for the following areas of the stitch:

Only available with Stitch Geometry Version 1.

Stitch Loop, Center, Outside

Enter the yarn thickness for this area

Maximum: 300

Stitch Loop, Center, Inside

Enter the yarn thickness for this area

Maximum: 300

Transition, Leg to Loop, Outside

Enter the yarn thickness for this area

Maximum: 300

Transition, Leg to Loop, Inside

Enter the yarn thickness for this area

Maximum: 300

Stitch Leg, Center, Outside

Enter the yarn thickness for this area

Maximum: 300

Stitch Leg, Center, Inside

Enter the yarn thickness for this area

Maximum: 300

Core Geometry by %

The core geometry does not determine the yarn thickness, but the route of the yarn in the stitch.

  • With 0%, the yarns of the stitches run overlapping.
  • With 100% (maximum value), they run side by side.

Thread Arrangement

Specify the arrangement of the threads by Manually or Automatically:

  • Manually
You can move and position the presentation of the yarns in Thread Cross Section as desired.
  • Automatically
The yarns are displayed evenly side by side.
The selection between Evenly and Sequentially is offered.
    • Evenly
The individual threads of the yarns are displayed alternately.
    • Sequentially
The individual threads of the yarns are displayed connected.

A difference between Evenly or Sequentially is only recognizable if the individual yarns are multithreaded.

Use Preview Colors

  • The colored presentation of the Yarn Texture corresponds to the preview colors form the Thread Cross Section.

  • The colored presentation of the Yarn Texture corresponds to the color defined in the preview.
