Plausibility check

To ensure the knittability of a design during the design phase, k.innovation CREATE DESIGN offers a number of checks.

A distinction is made between design checks and production check.
Additionally a calculation of the foreseeable knitting time allows for an estimation of the profitability of the design.

Design-Checks

Among the design checks there are a Float Jacquard check and an Ikat check.

• With the help of the Float Jacquard check, you can verify the floating length in relation to the selected stitch gauge, to ensure the technical knitting feasibility of the Float Jacquard graphic.
• Floating lengths may not exceed 1 inch.
• You can also define a maximum length of a floating yourself using the needle quantity.
• Contrôle Ikat
• 
• With Stoll-ikat plating® you have the possibility of exchanging two to three colors inside one stitch row within one single jersey.
• The Ikat check verifies if a graphic is feasible with the Stoll-ikat plating® technique.
• The length of the plating must be of at least 2 inches.

Production Checks

Among the production checks there is a verification of the number of yarn carriers and the calculation of the estimated knitting time.

• The specification of the yarn carriers used in the design pattern provides information about the knittability of the pattern and supports in the communication with the knitting technicians.
• This validation is especially useful for intarsia designs.

• Usually 2-4 additional technique colors are needed for the start and the transition to next fabric piece.
  These are yarn carriers with technical yarns, e.g. with draw thread, comb thread or protection thread.
• Durée de tricotage
• Calculates the knitting time, which is estimated to be needed for your design pattern.
• Average values of the knitting speed, i.e. (MSEC = 1.0) and a specific quantity of systems (3) are estimated for the calculation.
• The average value can vary between plus and minus 25%.
