Knitting Areas

This tool window contains all knitting ranges of the current dimensioned shape.

  • You can open the Knitting Ranges tool window in the Start tab in the Parameters group by ShowKnittingKindTableKnitting Ranges.
  • TableAllFilter
    Show Sub-rows

    • Shows all the sub-rows.

    • Different sub-rows can be displayed with the plus symbol PlusToExpand of the respective main row.

  • TableAllwithoutSubFilter
    Hide Sub-rows

    • Hides all sub-rows.

    • Different sub-rows can be hidden with the minus icon MinusToReduce of the respective main row.

The columns in the table:

  • Index Color
    Click the color to change the color value.

  • ShowYarnTableYarn Color
    Yarn color or plating color for the area

  • Filling Element
    Select a needle action as filling element for the range:

    • Stitch v, with Transfer

    • Stitches ^, with transfer

    • Stitch v - Stitch ^

    • Tubular
      with the knitting techniques:

  • RoundedEvenHightRound to Courses
    CheckBoxOn Even-numbered height of the area
    You can specify the start of the range after an even numbered row in the pop-up window when placing the knitting range.

  • Rows
    Height of the area by stitches
    (even if rounded CheckBoxOnRoundedEvenHight)

  • StepRiserPerStroke Stitches
    Calculated height of the area by stitches

    Height of the area as length measure

  • MeasurementDimension
    Dimension or formula for the height of the area

  • End of Area
    Behavior of the knitting range at the end of area
    You select it in the drop-down list if a dimension or a formula is used for the height of the area and a color sequence is defined by sub-rows:

    • Complete the knitting range exceeding the end
      Extends the knitting range in order to complete the rhythm.

    • Fill knitting range till the end
      Breaks up the rhythm in order to keep the measure of the knitting range.

    • Remove knitting range keeping the end clear
      Reduces the knitting range in order to end with a complete rhythm.

    • Further distinction according to subrows (minimal) or main rows (complete)

  • StitchDensityStitch Density
    Stitch density index for the area

  • StitchLengthFrontStitch length at the front
    Stitch length index for the front needle bed

  • StitchLengthRearStitch length at the rear
    Stitch length index for the rear needle bed

Context menu in the table

  • Add Main Row
    Adds a new main row.

  • Add Sub-row
    Adds a new sub-row to the selected main row.

  • Remove Rows
    Removes the selected rows.

  • Copy
    Copies the selected values or rows.

  • Paste Content
    Pastes the values from the clipboard.

  • Paste as New Row
    Pastes the rows from the clipboard into new rows.
