Change yarn carrier path

This function is used to activate a graphical editing mode for the yarn carrier. In this way, you change the start and end point of the yarn carrier path and the overrun path.
The yarn carrier path and overrun path are determined by technical processing and entered in the technical view.
By changing the overrun path, you define a correction value for the yarn carrier for this knitting row.

In the above picture the continuous line represents the yarn carrier path and the dashed line the overrun path with the triangle as the yarn-carrier stopping position. The black triangle with the slash mark means the insert and swivel action of an intarsia yarn carrier.

I. Activate the Change Yarn Carrier Path function:

  1. The technical view of the pattern is active.
  2. The yarn carrier display bar is switched on in the Pattern Presentation toolbar.
    1
Run the Change yarn carrier path function in the context menu of the Technical View.
  1. The editing mode is switched on and displayed with the icon with a changed cursor shape. The additional display of the symbol ? in the cursor shape means that the yarn carrier cannot be edited at the current cursor position.

The activated function is indicated with a check in the context menu. Calling up the function again disables it.

II. Change a yarn carrier path or overrun path:

The yarn carrier and overrun paths are determined with technical processing and entered in the technical view for a new pattern. Only the yarn carrier paths are present for an imported pattern via the Sintral Check data.

  1. The function is active.
  2. The yarn carrier paths and the overrun paths exist for the pattern.
    1
Place the cursor on the start or end point of the yarn carrier path to be edited in the yarn carrier display bar or on the white triangle of the overrun path. When doing so, place the cursor at the exact position at which the ? symbol disappears from the cursor shape.
  1. Editing is possible at this point.
    2
Click and hold the left mouse button.
  1. The symbol becomes visible on the cursor. In the status line the current values for the start and end point of the yarn carrier path (column number) or the length of the overrun path (converted to 1/16 inch) are specified.
    3
Move the symbol to the right or left within the yarn carrier display bar.
  1. The yarn carrier path or overrun path can be changed exactly to the needle. The change is displayed in the status line.
    4
    Release the mouse button.
  1. The changed yarn carrier path or overrun path is displayed graphically in the yarn-carrier display bar. The changed values are applied in the Technical row data dialog box (Yarn carrier tab).
The yarn carrier path is displayed in the setting range of the tab (Action/Path tab) and can be changed here.
A length in 1/16 inch is determined for the overrun path and displayed in the table column CorrectionL and/or CorrectionR. It can also be changed in the setting range of the tab (Home position/correction tab).

When the yarn carrier path is changed graphically, the existing overrun path is automatically removed. This can be regenerated by running technical processing again.

A yarn carrier correction can also be specified for the following areas:

For information on further points to be observed in conjunction with the yarn carrier correction, please read the chapter Yarn carrier correction (yarn field).
