Lines Editor

With the dialog box Line Editor line: <No.> left or Line Editor line: <No.> right, you can automatically generate the step for the line and enter your own simple interlaced cycles with the various curve functions.

The following icons are contained in the toolbar of the line editor:

Delete selected lines

Delete individual steps of the line by removing the selected lines from the table.
: If the Mirrored checkbox is activated in the Elements section of the shape editor, then the symmetrical lines are removed in the Right lines table.
Without a selection or in the Lines input format the icon is not available.
The Delete line function is also contained in the context menu of the line.

Group/Cancel grouping

Group selected lines or cancel an existing group.
: Without a selection or in the Lines input format the icon is not available.

Add new line at end

Adds on a new line at the end of the table.
: The icon is not available in the Lines input format.
A new line is also added when you proceed within the line with the Tab key on the keyboard.

Insert new line before selected line

Inserts a new line before the selected line.
: The icon is not available without a line being selected, when several lines are selected or in the Lines input format.
The Insert line function is also contained in the context menu of the line.

Shape straight line

Generate step of an angled line.

Shape J curve

Generate step of curve rounding at the bottom.

Shape S curve

Generate step of curve rounding at the top.

Group lines:

  1. The Stitches or Steps input format is used.

    Select all lines of the group to be formed in the table.

    Click on the button in the table toolbar.
  1. The group is formed. Each group is allocated a consecutive number. This number is shown in the Group column. In the Group factor column only the input field of the first group line is available, and all other lines are highlighted in gray and no longer available. Changes to the value are effective for all lines of the group.

The group can be deactivated with the same button. To do this, select any line within the group.

The cycle for the stepping of the line is shown in the table lines.
The steps are only displayed in the Lines input format. To change these, you have to convert the shape to the Stitches input format. To do this use the Convert and Save As function in the File menu (*.shp).
Modified lines will get in the lines table.
If you change the stitch density of a lined shape (*.shv), the lines will automatically be converted to straight .
The entire steps of all lines are shown in their height and width in the first line of the table. No input fields are present in this line.

The line editor is opened with an empty table for a shape line for which there are still no specifications. The lines are inserted automatically when using the curve functions Straight, J curve or S curve (buttons in the toolbar).
If you want to define your own steppings, then insert the corresponding lines with the button.

The columns of the table:

Button for selecting the line.

Grouped factor

Input field for the repetition factor of the group.
: Only the column of the first line of the group is available in a group.
In the Line input format the column is a display field.

Group

Display of the number of the group that has resulted from the grouping of lines.

Height of steps

Input field for the number of steps (in stitches) in the y-direction.
A positive value changes the direction from the base line upward, a negative value downward.
: In the Line input format the column is a display field.

Width of steps

Input field for the number of steps (in stitches) in the x-direction.
A positive value changes the direction from the center axis to the right, a negative value to the left.
: In the Line input format the column is a display field.

Factor

Repetition factor for the stepping of the line.
: In the Line input format the column is a display field.

Width

Enter values for the narrowing or widening width.
Only possible if the Applies for all knitting modes check box of the Line function / narrowing is active.
The values and settings here, in the Line table and in the Line function correspond to each other.

Width

Enter values for the fade-out width.
Only possible if the Applies for all knitting modes check box of the Line function / fade-out is active.
The values and settings here, in the Line table and in the Line function correspond to each other.

Buttons in the dialog box:
