Step 1: Picture Selection

In the Step 1: Picture Selection dialog box of the picture import, you can make the following settings:

Display current picture.

Picture size by stitches section

Width

Define the number of needles in the width.

Define the number of needles in the height.

Keep aspect ratio

Change the picture size with the existing aspect ratio.

Convert

Calculate the modified picture size and display it.

All Needles

Retain number of needles in the width.

1:1-Technique

Double the number of needles in the width.

Pattern rows per picture line

Select factor for picture height.

k&w section

 

No k&w

Do not use imported picture for a k&w pattern.

Layer 0

Use imported picture with k&w on the front layer.

Layer 1

Use imported picture with k&w on the back layer.

 

Design Pattern

Apply target colors in a new design pattern.

MC Jacquard

Display jacquard elements by characters and numbers.

Picture section

List field

Display image path.
: The picture properties (size and original number of colors) are located above the Original picture button.

Load

Call up the Open dialog box to load a new picture.

Button
Save

Open the Save file as dialog box.
: The picture is saved with the settings of Steps 2 and 3. This pattern information is lost when the picture is opened in a drawing program.

Machine section

List field

Display of the active machine (name, setup type, gauge, system distance and total number of needles) for a new pattern
: No machine is required to generate a pattern element. The section is not available.

Button
Selection

Open the Select machine dialog box.

Start section

Use comb

If the checkbox is activated, an automatic comb start is generated.
: The checkbox is only available for comb machines. Ensure that the comb checkbox is not deactivated in the My machine properties when selecting a machine of your own.

Button
Out of module tree

The module tree is reset to the Starts module group and the module for the start removed in the list fields of the Start section.
: This button is only available when a module from another module tree has been allocated.

List fields

With the above five list fields the module tree of the Starts module group from the Module explorer is set.
Then the module in the list field can be selected. These modules involve a specialized Technical container module.
: The section is not available when the picture is to be converted into a shape or a pattern element.

Picking-up after pressing-off section

List field

list field for module selection for picking-up after pressing-off.
: The list field is not available when the Use comb checkbox in the Start section is activated or when the Start section is not available.
With drag & drop you can drag an appropriate module from the Module toolbar or the Module explorer into the list field.

Adjustments...

Open the Default settings dialog box.

Load picture for the picture import:

    Open the Default settings dialog box via the Adjustments... button.

    Select the number of target colors.

    Open the picture file via the Load... button.
  1. When opening, the picture is automatically reduced to the number of target colors set in theDefault settings dialog box and displayed.

    Open Step 2: Color Selection of the Picture Import with the Continue > button.
  1. The set machine and the module for start and for picking-up after pressing-off are applied to the New Pattern dialog box.

Change the format of the graphic file in a photo editor if the graphic can not be imported.
Example: Convert a TIF file with alpha-channel to a BMP file.

Picture import for k&w pattern:

This function is helpful for the creation of k&w patterns for machines without additional beds.

If you select 1:1 technique in the presentation, the width of the motif will be doubled.

Do not compare this function to the conversion of a pattern into 1x1 technique.
