Saving and archiving data
To prevent data loss, you should make backup copies of your data and programs at regular intervals.
Over time, a large number of files (modules and patterns) also collect on the hard disk. To maintain an overview, you should archive the files no longer required and then delete them from the hard disk.
I. Archiving data on a DVD:
- 1
- Start the Windows Explorer.
- 2
- Select the files or directories to be archived in the Windows Explorer and drag them onto the DVD drive with Drag & Drop.
You can also back up the M1plus software like this. This is installed in the directories C:\Program Files\Stoll\M1 and D:\Stoll\M1 as default.
To prevent data loss, you should handle the data medium carefully and protect it from light, heat, dirt and moisture.
From Windows XP on the Backup service can also be used. This program supports you to make a back up of your hard disk. If the original data on the hard disk are accidentally deleted or overwritten, or if they are no longer available due to a hard disk fault, you can then restore the lost or damaged data from the copy.
Learn about the relevant procedures from the Windows Help and Support.
You will find additional information on using the backup program in the Help menu of the backup program.
