Start section

The Start section is available for basic and shape pattern.
The start of the pattern is specified in this section.
The start for a k&w pattern can only be inserted after connecting the pattern with the k&w shape.

In this section the following settings are made:

Start section
Use Comb		If the checkbox is activated, a comb start is generated. The Cast-off before start and Use clamping check boxes will be enabled but greyed-out. : The checkbox is only available for comb machines. Ensure that the comb checkbox is activated in the My machine properties when selecting a machine of your own.
Use Comb		: If the Use comb check box is deactivated, the following options are available:
	Cast-off before start	Start the knitting program on an empty needle bed. In combination with Use comb, a comb thread module will be in the start.
	Sintral	The comb start is generated by the Sintral function.
	Module	The comb start is generated by module technique.
	Use Clamping	Use the Clamping / Cutting function of the machine.

RS17 EIN		Activate the switchable RS17 cycle for the fabric piece transitions.
: If RS17 ON and Sintral are active, then in the Configuration / Comb, Clamping dialog box the Clamping at the fabric end in the cast-off function (RS17=0) check box is automatically set and the Sintral command RS17=1 IF #100=1 RS17=0 is entered at the pattern end. Comb, Clamping tab

button Out of module tree		The list fields for the module tree are set on the Starts module group. The module selection in the Start field (modules allocated with drag & drop) will be canceled. : The button is only available, if a module from the Module toolbar or the Module Explorer is allocated in the Start field.
Five list fields for the module tree		Set the module tree of the Starts module group from the Module explorer with the upper five list fields. Afterwards, a module can be selected in the list field Start.
List field Start with Drag & Drop symbol		Select a technical container module for the start from the preset module tree . : You can also allocate the module from the Module toolbar or the Module Explorer with drag & drop. The list fields for the module tree are then no longer available. Without selection in the list field Start (empty entry), the pattern is generated without start.
List field Picking-up after pressing-off with Drag & Drop symbol		The modules from the Technical/Special fabric pieces/Picking-up after pressing-off module group of the Module explorer are offered for selection. : The list box is only available, if the checkbox Use comb is deactivated. Picking-up after pressing-off is not necessary, when using a comb start.
