Meaning of the colors in the Design Mode.

The needle actions and the module name will be applied to the pattern.

The first stitch row of the module is positioned on the first stitch row within a pattern row.

Only the module color is transferred to all needle actions located in the area of the echo.
The module name is not applied to the pattern.

The needle actions, the colors of the module and the module name will be applied to the pattern.

A color can be selected from the Yarn colors toolbar for the module. The color that has been selected in the Yarn colors toolbar appears in the module data toolbar. It has a border with the module color.
The selected color can be removed again with the Reset all editing colors function in the context menu of the Module data toolbar.

It is only useful to apply colors only, in the case of multicolor modules or pattern elements.
