Manual color reduction

The manual color reduction is possible in the Step 2: Color Selection dialog box

I. Reduce number of colors of a picture manually:

    Click on a color to be reduced with the left mouse button and hold the key depressed in the Target colors color table.
  1. The number of the selected color is highlighted in black.

    With the mouse button pressed, move the mouse pointer to a free box in the color table Allocated colors next to the target color to be replaced and release.
  1. The color reduction is carried out and the result shown in the picture display.

You can also select a color when you are in the picture display by clicking on the corresponding color with the left mouse button.

In the Allocated colors color table the colors can be moved from one target color to the other later.

II. Allocate a reduced color to another target color:

    1
    Click on a color to be moved with the left mouse button and hold the key depressed in the Allocated colors color table.
  1. The selected color is shown with a red border.

    With the mouse button pressed, move the mouse pointer to a free box in the color table Allocated colors next to the new target color and release.
  1. The change is shown in the picture display.

III. Undo manual color reduction step by step:

    1
    Pull a color out of the Allocated colors color table onto an empty area of the Target colors color table again.
  1. The color reduction is undone step by step.

You can also carry out a manual color reduction with the Shape option field (Pattern section) active. However, the shape can only be generated (Finish button is available) when the picture has exactly 2 target colors.
