Prepare the Picture in a Photo Editor
Prepare your sample picture before importing it in order to achieve the following:
- Adjusting the size to the desired number of needles (1pixel = 1 needle)
- Clipping the motif and removing the background.
- Rotating, mirroring or screwing the motif etc.
- Saving the intermediate editing steps
- Reducing the color number in advance
- Changing the file format to bmp
: For this purpose, use the image editor 
ImageStone or a program of your choice, which supports the desired functions.
Edit the image in the ImageStone program and save it as bmp:

- Run the function in the menu of the M1plus.

- Open the image file via the File / Open menu.

- Call up Adjust / Image Size… menu.

- Adjust the image size to the desired number of needles (pixel).

- Close the entry with OK.
- The Image Size dialog box is closed.

- Save the image file via the File / Save as… menu with the bmp format.
