Left/right markings

This table is used to set the marking points (e.g. for button holes).
The tables are called up with the Right Markings or Left Markings function in the Tables menu.

Usually a shape is entered mirrored, whereby the center axis separates the left and right shape half. While entering the shape data for the left shape half, the corresponding data of the right shape half are simultaneously generated and a symmetrical shape is generated.
You can also generate asymmetrical shapes by defining the entire line shape in a table. It is important that a closed curve shape always results.

The data are shown in red when the resulting line or the resulting marking point is located in the opposite shape half. You have entered a value for the width in a table line or in the line editor with the incorrect sign.

A new shape or a new shape element still has no line in the tables.
Lines can be added on with the button on the toolbar.

If several lines are to be allocated the same function (e.g. several shape lines represent narrowing), then it is advisable to group these lines. As a result, allocated properties automatically become active for all lines of the group.

Group lines:

  1. Only lines with the same display in the Function column can be grouped.
    1
Select all lines of the group to be formed in the table.
    2
Click on the button in the table toolbar.
  1. The Selection of reference line dialog box appears. In this dialog box the numbers of the selected lines are displayed.
    3
In the table click on the line number from which the attributes are to be applied with the left mouse button.
    4
    Click on the OK button.
  1. The table is closed and the group is formed. Each group is allocated a consecutive number. This number is shown in the Group column. In the Function column now only the button of the first line of the group is available; all other lines are highlighted in blue and are no longer available. Changes to the function become effective for all lines.

The group can be deactivated with the same button. To do this, select any line within the group.

The data for a marking point is found on a line of the shape editor table. The lines are interconnected. The line end point of a line is simultaneously the line starting point of the next line.
The entry is only possible in the field of the active Input format. The values of the other input formats are calculated and displayed.
A line has the following columns:
