Step by Step to 'Pattern-9'

Multi gauge knitting technique

This knitting technique is based on the intarsia knitting technique as the neighboring areas (coarse - fine) in one knitting row are knitted with different yarn carriers.
Machines of the multi gauges (mg) E1,5.2 to E10.2 are used in order to achieve fabrics of high quality.

: Using Intarsia yarn carriers is recommended.

Stitch presentation before technical processing

Stitch line before technical processing

  • Fine and coarse knitting areas are side by side
  • In the coarse area only every 2nd stitch row will be knit in 1x1 with a thicker yarn.
  • In the fine area every stitch row will be knit with all needles with thinner yarn.

: Stitch ratio coarse between the areas: fine is 1 : 2 stitch rows

Intarsia binding at the border of the color areas:

  • Fine knitting areas:
The specified Intarsia binding will be entered.
  • Coarse knitting ranges:
No Intarsia binding is entered, since the thicker yarn would affect the stitch appearance too much.
: This preset is defined in the properties of the knitting element (technical modules).

Transition for the area from mg fine to mg coarse

mg Transition, fine to coarse

: The mg Transition, fine to coarse technical module contains multiple tiles, to be able to transition the different knitting situations accordingly in the transfer from fine (all needles knit) to coarse (1x1 technique).

Transitions for the area from mg coarse to mg fine

mg, Pick-up, Split coarse

Recommendation:
Use of split cams in the desired knitting systems.

Step by step to Pattern-9 without shape:

  1. A pattern project with one pattern and the desired settings is created.
    1
Select any desired drawing tool under the Drawing group.
    2
In the Pattern Colors tool window, select the desired pattern colors from the Yarn Colors color palette to draw the motif:
    3
Draw the desired motif in the Design Pattern with knitting elements from the Knitting Element Depot of the Knit Explorer:

Example

Pattern neckline

For the yarn color #1 (white) there is a table entry in the Color Parameters table.
This means that only one preset can be made for the white color at the left and right in the Color Parameters table.

  • In the design pattern, for example, on the left side, the yarn color #1 is exchanged for yarn color #2.
This way a table entry is entered in the Color Parameters table for the yarn color #2.
This means that different presets can be made for the left and right side of the motif in the Color Parameters table.
  • Another color - a new yarn color or sub-color - can be entered in the last row at the end of the multi gauge motif, to be able to use different modules for the Border processing, transition from mg coarse to mg fine.

:
Instead of using new yarn colors, a sub-color can also be used for the respective yarn color.

    4
In the Design Pattern adjust the motif for the specifications with Yarn Carriersaccordingly, if desired.
    5
Carry out Technical Processing if necessary.
: After carrying out the Technical Processing you are able to view and weigh up the result of the automatic processing, if corrections / optimizations are necessary.
    6
Back to the Design Pattern to make pattern-related changes.
    7
Open the Yarn Carriers tool window for this purpose.
    8
In the Color Parameters table make the desired changes in the following groups, if necessary:
    9
If desired, make the desired presets in the following control columns:
    10
If necessary, make the desired presets for combining yarn carriers in the More Settings tab of the Configuration dialog box.

Several yarn carriers are combined in one system by the technical processing (knitting sequence) to optimize the production time.

:
The yarn carriers will be combined only if this is possible based on the color field distances.
The result is visible in the Symbol View after the technical processing.

Options in the Configuration dialog box

    1
In the ribbon select the Configuration button.
  1. The dialog box appears.
  2. 2
    Select the More Settings tab.
    3
Make the desired presettings for the Combine Yarn Carriers.
  • Yarn Insertion:
Secure Yarn Insertion at Color Widening is active (standard)

1

Yarn Insertion

Do not combine (Default setting)

No automatic combining of the yarn carriers.

:

  • High run time because of regular knitting process for Intarsia:
  • Nice, uniform binding at the color field borders

Default

Automatic combining of the yarn carriers, where the result cannot be influenced.

:

  • Shortest run time with possible problems with the Intarsia binding (tuck) at the color field border.

Secure Yarn Insertion at Color Widening

Automatic, uniform combining of the yarn carriers with an optimized knitting process for secure yarn insertion with the tuck binding.

:

  • Uniform Intarsia binding will be achieved at the color field border.
  • Reduced run time without problems with the Intarsia binding (tuck)

2

Allow NPJ when combining yarn carriers

NPJ allowed (default setting)

Result:
Two color areas can be combined by the technical processing, due to the distances and the differently defined stitch tensions (NP).

NPJ allowed is disabled

Result:
Two color areas could be combined due to the distances.
Due to the differently defined stitch tensions (NP), these color fields are not combined by the technical processing.

3

Additional yarn carrier distance for corrections on the machine (YC/YCI)

 1/16 inch

Adjust the safety distance in order to make corrections on the machine (YC/YCI in the setup).
Default value: 0

: You can specify a shorter yarn carrier distance especially with coarser gauges.

    11
    Start the Technical Processing.
With the button, show Symbol view after technical processing.
  1. The yarn carriers are automatically combined after the set specifications and the Intarsia rules (constructive facts of the Intarsia yarn carriers on the machine).
  2. 12
    Generate Sintral.
    13
    Start the Sintral Check.
    14
    Extract the knitting program.
  3. A program for the knitting machine will be created: CMS530.Pattern-9.zip
  4. 15
Load knitting program into the machine.

: The extracted file CMS530.Pattern-9.zip can be loaded onto the machine with an USB stick or via Ethernet.
