Step by Step to 'Pattern-8_2system'

Stoll-ikat plating ®

For Stoll-ikat plating®, two plating colors (= a plating color combination) per pattern row are required for each color change by one system. You can use a different plating color combination in each system. A maximum of 30 changes of position are allowed in one pattern row, where a distance of 2 inches (with 1.0 m/s) between the color changes is to be respected.

  1. A pattern project with the Pattern-8_1system pattern and the desired settings is created.
    1
    Duplicate the Pattern-8_1system pattern.
  1. The plating color P1 and P2 are entered into all pattern rows of the design pattern.
  2. 2
Draw the plating colors P3 and P4 manually into the second pattern row.

1

The first pattern row contains P1 and P2, which work in the first knitting system.

2

The first pattern row contains P3 and P4, which work in the second knitting system.

    3
Create a selection based on the combination of plating colors P1 + P3.
    4
Create a pattern element via the context menu Selection -> Create Pattern Element... .
    5
Use the same procedure to create a pattern element with the plating colors P2 + P4.
  1. Two pattern elements are created.

    7
If desired, modify the value under Inverse Plating in the More Settings tab of Configuration.

Maximum quantity of needles with separating knitting rows to several systems.

  • Color fields up to 27 needles wide are divided up = inverse plating
  • Color fields wider than 27 needles are not divided up = Stoll-ikat plating®

: The default setting depends on the gauge: = 2 inch minus one needle.

    8
Draw the plating color P5 into the local knitting element Start, 2x2
    9
Select an existing shape from the Shapes tool window and place it on the pattern.
    10
If necessary, make the desired settings in the Yarn Carriers tool window.
    11
Carry out all the steps of processing.
