New knitting element (dialog box)
Knitting elements can be saved three ways:
Locally in a pattern project:
These knitting elements are saved in the Modules tool window and can only be used in the pattern project.
In the Knit Explorer:
These knitting elements are available for every pattern project.
As a file, on any path on the computer:
These knitting elements can be handled independently from a pattern project and are also available in Recent in the start window.
The knitting elements can be moved according to necessity between the three application areas via the import and export functions in the corresponding areas.

New Knitting Element dialog box can be called up as follows:
In the Start window:
Knitting elements that you create this way, are saved on any path on the computer. They can be opened and edited or imported into a pattern project and applied independently from a pattern project.
In the tab File :
Knitting elements that you create this way, are saved on any path on the computer. They can be opened and edited or imported into a pattern project and applied independently from a pattern project.
In the Knit Explorer / Tab Start / Group New :
Knitting elements that you create this way, are saved in the Knit Explorer on the selected path in the navigation pane. Then, they are available for every pattern project via Knit Explorer.
In the tool window Modules, via the context menu, selection Generate a new module:
Knitting elements that you create this way, are only saved locally in the pattern project. They are not applied automatically to the Knit Explorer.
Click on the knitting element types or the red-framed areas (2 - 3) of the image to access the description directly.
