Neck at the Front and Back of the Body

The neck at the front of the body as well as at the back of the body consists of two mirrored shape lines:

  • In the horizontal shape line you define a cast-off area.
  • In the diagonal shape line you define a narrowing area.

How to define the cast-off area in the neck:

  1. Open the context menu for the left horizontal shape line of the neck at the front.
  1. Select the Line Properties.
  • The Line Properties tool window appears.
  • The selected shape line and the mirrored shape line appear in the detail view on the right.
  1. Do not make changes in the Stepping Parameters group box.
  1. Go to the M row of the Line table.
  1. Select the Binding-off option in the list box of the Function column.
  • The Binding-off Module column appears in the Line table.
  1. Select the Protection rows with cast-off, neckline, edge option in the list box of the Binding-off Module column.
  1. Do not make changes in the group box for Attributes, Markings and Behavior of All Sizes.
  • The selected knitting mode is assigned in the cast-off area.

How to define the narrowing area in the neck:

  1. Open the context menu for the left diagonal shape line of the neck at the front.
  1. Select the Line Properties.
  • The Line Properties tool window appears.
  • The selected shape line and the mirrored shape line appear in the detail view on the right.
  1. Go to the Stepping Parameters group box.
  1. Select the J-curve option in the Stepping Kind list box.
  1. The detail view updates.
  1. Select the value 2 in the Min. Step Height edit box.
  • The detail view updates.
  1. Select the value 2 in the Step Width edit box
  • The detail view updates.
  1. Select the even-numbered option in the Stepping in the Height list box.
  • The detail view updates.
  1. Keep the value 0 in the Min. Height at the End of Line edit box.
  1. Keep the Binding-off at Line Foot check box deactivated.
  • The steppings in the narrowing area of the neckline form a J-curve.
  • Module, width and look of the narrowing are assigned to the shape line from the default settings.
    You entered the default settings already with the step Define Options for the Current Shape.
  1. Do not make changes in the group box for Attributes, Markings and Behavior of All Sizes.

Proceed the same way to define the cast-off and narrowing area in the neck at the back of the body.
