How to Use the Smart Card

  • Before using the USB reading device (Smartcard Reader), the corresponding driver has to be installed.
  1. Connect the USB reading device to a USB port.
  1. Insert the GKS SmartCard into the reading device.
    Watch out the correct position of the chip contacts.
  • The green LED of the smart card reader shows the readiness of the reading device.
    You can install the GKS from the program DVD.

Do not remove GKS SmartCard from the reading device neither when installing nor when using the GKS.
During the installation and execution of the GKS, do not unplug the Smartcard Reader.

With the log on of a user or when putting in the smart card following Windows message may appear:
The card inserted requires drivers not present on this system.
Use another card!

Confirm this message with OK and log-on as usual.
