Yarn carrier tab

The Yarn carrier tab is only available for expanded patterns or technical patterns .
The entries can be overwritten by the technical processing.

The columns in the display window of the tab:

Column

Meaning

Row

Numbering of the technical rows.
If several yarn carriers are used within a technical row, then the row is executed as many times as there are yarn carriers in this technical row.

Name

Name of yarn carrier.
In the technical rows in which no yarn carrier is present, a - is shown. With a module Spacer appears when this has been assigned a spacer in a row.

Action

Yarn carrier action

 

SEN edge

The yarn carrier is brought up to the SEN edge in this row.

Lay-in

The thread has been laid-in in the knitting area.

Swivel

An intarsia yarn carrier is used. This is swiveled.

No swiveling

With a module it was specified for the Spacer of a yarn carrier that this is not to swivel.

Clamping and cutting

The thread is clamped in this row. With a module a delay may be specified. If the symbol is followed by the character in conjunction with a number, then this means that clamping is not carried out in this row, but instead only after the specified number of stitch rows.

Open clamp

The clamp is opened in this row.
You can specify the number of rows for a yarn field in the Yarn field allocation dialog box before technical processing. This is copied to the technical row data by the technical processing function. If necessary, you can change the value in the setting area of this tab again after technical processing.
The icons for the action of the yarn carrier are also shown in the control columns. The yarn carrier display bar must be activated for this purpose. In addition, you also see the name of the icons in the Action/Path tab.

Correction left

Stop correction for the left overrun path of the yarn carrier.
Prior to technical processing a yarn carrier correction can only be entered for a placeholder. Therefore, a module used in the pattern must have a placeholder for a yarn carrier allocated, making the entry of a correction possible at all before technical processing.
In addition to the value entry for a technical row, the yarn carrier correction can also be specified for the following areas:

  • Yarn field (in the Yarn Field Allocation dialog box)
  • Globally for the entire pattern (in Yarn Field Allocation dialog box)
  • Technical row (graphically in the technical view)

Stop correction for the right overrun path of the yarn carrier

The setting area consists of a display window and several tabs. The following tabs are contained in the setting area:

On the Stopping position / correction tab, the following settings are made:

Activate section.
: The stopping positions are only applied in the knitting program (Sintral) when at least two yarn carriers are used on this yarn carrier track for the pattern and the yarn carriers work in this row up to the fabric selvedge.

HL

Select the left stopping position for staggering.

HR

Select the right stopping position for staggering.

 

YD

Activate section.
Stop the yarn carriers at the fabric selvedge.

At the Left

Enter distance of the yarn carrier from the left fabric selvedge in 1/16 inch

At the Right

Enter distance of the yarn carrier from the right fabric selvedge in 1/16 inch

 

Correction

Activate section.
Allocate a stop correction to several rows with different stopping positions.

At the Left

Select correction value for the left.

At the Right

Select correction value for the right.

SEN edge

The yarn carrier is moved to the SEN edge.
Tip: Another way to change the yarn carrier path is provided with the Change yarn carrier path function in the context menu of the technical view.

Position+

The yarn carrier will be positioned with an additional distance (needles) from the fabric selvedge.
This waiting position will be kept until the reuse of the yarn carrier.

On the Add tab, the following settings are made:

The yarn carriers used in the pattern are displayed.
You can allocate an additional yarn carrier to a technical row or replace the yarn carriers.
To allocate certain properties to a module that concern the yarn carrier, you can add a Spacer to it. With it, you specify the following properties:

  • Stopping position and correction
  • Clamping and cutting after x rows
  • Open clamp after x rows
  • Move yarn carrier outside SEN area

In the Yarn Field Allocation dialog box you can define which yarn carrier you want to use for the placeholder.

Display field on the left

Display the yarn carrier of the selected technical row.

You can already allocate a yarn carrier to a technical row before technical processing if it has been allocated to a yarn field in the Yarn field allocation dialog box beforehand.

I. Allocate a new yarn carrier to a technical row:

    Select the technical rows in the in the pattern or in the tab display window.
  1. The yarn carriers of the selected technical rows are applied in the display window of the setting area.

    Drag the yarn carrier from the Add tab into the display window on the left side of the setting area via drag & drop.

    Double-click on the yarn carrier in the Add tab.

    Click the Apply button.

II. Delete a yarn carrier in the display window of the setting area:

  1. The yarn carriers to be deleted are selected in the display window.

    Click Del key.

    Display the context menu with the right mouse button and execute the Delete yarn carrier function.
