STOLL M1plus Smartcard up to 2021

The M1plus main program is protected from unlicensed use via copy protection.
This copy protection consists of a Smartcard (Stoll M1plus Smartcard) and a USB reading device (Smartcard-Reader).
You can neither install nor use the Stoll pattern software Stoll M1plus Smartcard without M1plus.

Loss of License

If you have lost the Stoll M1plus Smartcard you will not get any replacement from Stoll for the thereby lost license.

Install driver for smartcard reader via Hardware Assistant:

  1. Before using the Stoll M1plus Smartcard, the PC/SC component must be installed from the installation CD of the manufacturer (Smartcard-Reader).

    Read and observe the manufacturers manual (Smartcard-Reader).

    Put the installation CD of the manufacturer in the CD drive.

    Connect the USB reading device (Smartcard-Reader) to a USB port.
    The Windows Hardware Assistant starts automatically.
    - or -
    If the Windows Hardware Assistant does not appear automatically, start it via the Windows Start Control Panel / Device Manager.

    Follow the dialog and specify the path to the driver on the installation CD.

Install driver from CD only!

    Finish the installation with the Finish button.
  1. The driver for the Smartcard-Reader is installed on your workstation.
    You can use the Smartcard Reader on to the USB port.

Use the Smartcard:

  1. Before using the USB reading device (Smartcard Reader), the corresponding driver has to be installed.

    Connect the USB reading device to an USB port.

    Put the Stoll M1plus Smartcard into the reading device.
    Watch out the correct position of the chip contacts.
  1. The green LED of the Smartcard Reader shows the readiness of the reading device.
    You can install the M1plus from the program DVD.

Do not remove the M1plus from the reading device neither when installing nor when using the Stoll M1plus Smartcard.

During the installation and execution of the M1plus, do not unplug the Smartcard Reader.

During the installation and execution of the M1plus, do not disconnect the remote desktop connection.

Use the Smartcard via remote desktop:

  1. The driver of the USB reading device (Smartcard Reader) has to be installed on the client computer.

    Connect the USB reading device to an USB port.

    Put the Stoll M1plus Smartcard into the reading device.
    Watch out the correct position of the chip contacts.
  1. The green LED of the Smartcard Reader shows the readiness of the reading device.

    Set up the remote desktop connection.

    Establish the use of local devices and resources for the remote session.
    Remote desktop connection / Options / Local Resources / Others / Smartcards

    Start and use the M1plus on the remote host.

    Exit the M1plus on the remote host before disconnecting the remote desktop connection.

When signing in the user or when inserting the smartcard, Windows messages regarding the smartcard, the device driver installation and the device driver software may appear.

Ignore these messages.

If necessary, repeat the device driver installation of the USB reading device (Smartcard Reader).
