Generate shape from picture

A shape can be generated from the Step 2: Color selection dialog box.

Generate a shape from a picture:

  1. The picture import has been run with the File / Import / Picture as Pattern... function.
  2. Picture is loaded and displayed in the Step 2: Color Selection dialog box.

    Click on the Shape option field in the Pattern section.
  1. If the picture has more than 2 colors, an automatic color reduction to 2 colors is carried out.

For the shape only 2 target colors are required which result in the elements Within shape and Outside shape in the shape.
The result of the automatic color reduction to 2 colors can be manually corrected by moving the colors with Drag & Drop.

    Click on the Within shape option field for the target color that is to form the Within shape element in the shape.

    Click on the Finish button.
  1. The dialog box is closed. A shape consisting of the within shape and outside shape elements is created from the image and displayed in the Symbol View [Shape] window.

If the button is not available, then the picture colors will not be shown in the Target colors color table, or not with the correct number of target colors. Press the Color reduction button.
