Settings on the M1 and on the knitting machine

    Call up Yarn Field Allocation dialog box.

    Select the yarn field with plating yarn.

    Select the yarn carrier type for the plating yarn Normal and enter it.

    Select the yarn carrier type for the basic yarn U+/- and enter it.
  2. The yarn carrier will be marked with the icon.

    For the yarn carrier type U+/- enter the engaging values Ua/Ub.
  1. These values are automatically applied to the knitting program and the setup data.

These settings will be written to the Sintral program.
Example for the yarn carrier 5A with the engaging width “46 mm”:
Y-5A:U 23.0-23.0;
U - engaging values
23.0 on the left-hand side
23.0 on the right-hand side

Always indicate the engaging width since it affects the parking position of the yarn carrier. If required, you can adjust the engaging values to the facts later on the knitting machine.

Settings on the knitting machine

Threading up:
Plating yarn - yarn carrier with the smaller engaging width
Basic yarn - yarn carrier with the larger engaging width

If you change the engaging width when setting up the pattern on the knitting machine, you have to enter the changed values on the knitting machine.

The Ua and Ub values are important for parking the yarn carriers correctly:

e.g.: Sink the clamping and cutting needle by 5 steps deeper: NCC=5

Minimum value: -10
Maximum value: 10
Step width: 1

For a thin or elastic yarn, it may be necessary to withdraw the clamping and cutting needle deeper in order to ensure reliable cutting.
