Import of Shapes

You can import vectors from Adobe®Illustrator® automatically to a new layer in Photoshop® by the Import Shape ... function.

Requirement for Dimensional Precision

  • Shapes of AI format
  • Shapes in original size

You can open DXF shape files in Adobe®Illustrator® and save it then as AI file.

Watch out when importing a DXF shape in Adobe®Illustrator®:

  • Do not scale the DXF shape to the canvas.
  • Adjust the canvas to the dimension of the shape after importing it.
