How to Assign New Dimensionings

Dimensionings

  • Initially, a shape or a marking point have a pre-assigned x and y coordinate (in cm or inches), which results from the position drawn in.
    The point is freely movable.
  • If a dimension from the table is assigned horizontally or vertically between two points (Dimensioning) the horizontal or vertical position of the points adapts to the set dimension. The point can only be shifted in with limitations.
  • Symmetrical points commonly react on a dimensioning.
  • A dimensioning is the concrete use of a measure between two points of a fabric piece.
  • The use of a dimension is entered once per fabric piece as a sub-row in the Measure Table.
  • If the value of an independent dimension or the formula of a dependent dimension is changed all dimensions and shape point positions will be newly calculated to meet the new dimension value.

Assign a new dimensioning with an existing dimension:

  • The order analysis requires a new dimensioning of two shape points.
  • The dimensioned shape with non dimensioned shape points is open.
  • The required dimension is created.
  1. Open the context menu for the desired shape point.
  1. Click Add Horizontal Dimensioning.
  • An arrow with reference lines appears. The startpoint lies at the clicked shape point and the reference line to the arrow head is attached to the cursor.

If the starting shape point is incorrect, delete the arrow with the ESC key.

  1. Click on the target shape point.
  • The New Horizontal Dimensioning dialog box appears.
  1. Click Measures / Formulas.
  1. Select a dimension in the list box.

Unused and horizontal dimensionings are offered for horizontal dimensioning. The first use establishes the orientation of the dimension within the current fabric piece.

  1. Confirm the selection with .
  • The dialog box is closed.
  • The position of the shape points adjusts to the entered dimensioning.
  • The dimensioning is displayed by a double arrow in the dimensioning view.
  • The corresponding linear measure is displayed at the dimensioning.
  • The name of the fabric piece appears in the sub-row of the used dimension. The use of the dimension in a fabric piece is displayed in a sub-row once for each fabric piece.

For vertical dimensionings select unused or vertical dimensions.

Assign new dimensioning with an existing formula:

  • The order analysis requires a new dimensioning of two shape points.
  • The dimensioned shape with non dimensioned shape points is open.
  • The required formula is created.
  1. Open the context menu for the desired shape point.
  1. Click Add Horizontal Dimensioning.
  • A red arrow appears. The startpoint lies at the clicked shape point and the arrow head is attached to the cursor.
  1. Click on the target shape point.
  • The New Horizontal Dimensioning dialog box appears.
  1. Click Measures / Formulas.
  1. Select a formula in the list box.

The formulas (dependent dimensions) appear with letter ID at the end of the list.

Unused formulas and horizontal formulas are offered for horizontal dimensionings. The first use establishes the orientation of the formula within the current fabric piece.

  1. Confirm the selection with .
  • The dialog box is closed.
  • The horizontal position of the shape points adjusts to the entered dimensioning.
  • The dimensioning is displayed by an arrow in the dimensioning view.
  • The corresponding linear measure calculated through the formula is displayed at the dimensioning.
  • The name of the fabric piece appears in the sub-row of the used formula. The use of the formula in a fabric piece is displayed in a sub-row once for each fabric piece.

For vertical formulas select unused formulas or vertical formulas.

Assign a new dimensioning with a new dimension:

  • The dimensioned shape with non dimensioned shape points is open.
  • The required dimension is not created.
  1. Click New Dimension
  • The distance of the points is displayed.
  • The edit box for the designation of the new dimension gets active.
  1. Enter the designation for the new dimension.
    New Horizontal Dimensioning
  1. Enter the length value for the dimension in the edit box.

For a new vertical dimension you select Add Vertical Dimensioning in the context menu.
