General tab

A function can be selected for the shape line, and a stitch length can be defined at the shape edge.

In the General tab, the following settings are made:

Element	Meaning
List field Function	The functions Narrowing, Widening, Binding-off, Goring and an empty field for a line without a function are offered. The name of a selected function is copied to the table line immediately and switched over to the related tab. : The list field is not available for the Basis function (start line in Line 1), as the width of the shape results from the start line and no knitting technique is required for it. Select a corresponding entry in the General shape data section in the Type list field.
Stitch length at shape edge section
Stitch Length	The entries are applied in the pattern in the Shape attributes dialog box. In addition, the icon Stitch length change is generated in the specified width in the shape view. : The icon is only visible if the Change of Stitch Length function of the Pattern Presentation toolbar and a zoom level >6 is active.
List field NP front	Select NP index for the front needle bed
List field NP back	Select NP index for the rear needle bed
Input field NP front	Enter NP value for the front needle bed.
Input field NP back	Enter NP value for the rear needle bed.
Input field Width	Width (in columns) in which the stitch length at the shape edge is to be used.
Miss-knit	Do not knit.
