Technical tab

On the Technical tab, the following settings are made:

Element

Meaning

Max. allowed racking <

Enter the value for the racking course to the left, up to which the module can knit reliably:
Deactivate Unlimited checkbox, then enter racking course.
: This specification is for your information. It has no influence on the usability of the module.
Exception: This entry is evaluated in Technical Processing. The specified value represents the number of needles for widening or narrowing. The value must match the stepping in the pattern for the criterion to be fulfilled.
This concerns the following modules:
- The technical container modules in the Technical/Widening/<Knitting Mode>/<Widening Method> module group
- The technical container modules in the Technical/Narrowing/<Knitting Mode>/<Narrowing Method> module groups

: Further criteria are the direction and the value in the General module attributes section.

With k&w, the value is used for the same purpose. This concerns the following modules:
- The technical container module of the module group
k&w Technical/Widening/<Widening Method>
- The technical container module of the module group
k&w Technical/Narrowing/<Narrowing Method>
- The modules with limit conditions in the module group
k&w Technical/Transferring inward Sleeves/Type 1/<Fabric Piece>

Unlimited

Input field

Max. allowed racking >

Enter the value for the racking course to the right, up to which the module can knit reliably:
Deactivate Unlimited checkbox, then enter racking course.
: This specification is for your information. It has no influence on the usability of the module.
Exception: See description of Max. allowed racking <. The value for Max. allowed racking is evaluated, the direction of which matches the direction in the section General module attributes.

Unlimited

Input field

Jacquard section

Relief jacquard

If the checkbox is activated, this is a relief jacquard. It is a property of the jacquard module.
: The checkbox can only be deactivated, if the dialog box has been called-up with the module editor open, with the Properties... function in the File menu , since a modification of this property requires a modification in the module by all means.

Input field
Number of colors

Display the number of colors specified for jacquard modules when the module is generated.

Picture at the Rear

Front of picture

When generating a jacquard module, the picture side of the jacquard must be specified in the Jacquard module definition dialog box. This number is shown here.
The picture side of the jacquard module can only be modified, if the dialog box has been called-up with the Module Editor open by the Properties... function in the File menu.
: With jacquard generators, the picture side cannot be changed.
In the Picture side section of the Jacquards dialog box, the picture side can be turned within the pattern for the jacquard modules and the jacquard generators.

Input field
Stitch Ratio

Specify stitch ratio from front to back. The entry has no influence on the generation of the jacquard.
The values specified here are displayed for the selected module in the Jacquards dialog box in the Jacquard properties section.
: When generating a new jacquard module, the value -1 is entered automatically. This means that the stitch ratio has not yet been defined. If a module is selected in the Jacquards dialog box for which no stitch ratio is defined, then no value is shown there.

Input field
Max. floating length

Specify the maximum floating length
When selecting a jacquard generator in the section Jacquard properties in the Jacquards dialog box, it can then be immediately seen by a maximum of how many needles floating is to be carried out with this jacquard.
The specification has no influence on the generation of the jacquard.
: When generating a new jacquard module, the value -1 is entered automatically. This means that the float length has not yet been defined. If a module is selected in the Jacquards dialog box for which no floating length is defined, then no value is shown there.

Input field
Offset of back side

Move the starting point for the back vertically (Y) and horizontally (X).

List field
Ladder Back

Select the net type for a jacquard module with the Jac net knitting mode. For additional information, read the Generate jacquard module document.

k&w module

If the checkbox is activated, the module is used for k&w.

Do not move the structure transfer over the other layer

With the checkbox activated, the structure transfer will be carried out grouped in the pattern row before the change to the respective other layer.
: For k&w only

List field
Knitting Layer

Select knitting layer contained in the module. For example, this is important for setting widening and narrowing modules.

1x1 Transfer allowed

If the checkbox is activated, transferring may be performed in the area of the module in 1x1 technical.
: To carry out this process during the technical processing, multi-system transferring has to be activated in the Configuration in the Transfer section.

Transferring surroundings permitted

If the checkbox is activated, the stitches may be transferred with this module according to the setting of the Configuration dialog box and the Areas tab in the Technical row data dialog box.
: To carry out this process during the technical processing, the transfer of the surrounding has to be activated in the Configuration in the Transfer section. In the Configuration you can also specify from which racking size and on which needle bed the surrounding is to be transferred.

Cast-off and transfer permitted

In the Configuration dialog box, you can specify whether casting off and transferring are to be combined in one row. This setting applies to the entire pattern. If, despite this setting, you do not want casting off and transferring to be combined for a module, then deactivate this checkbox.

Separate Transfer Layers

If the checkbox is activated, the transfer layers may be separated.

List field
Knitting Mode

So that the suitable modules for binding-off, narrowing and widening can be inserted when cutting out the shape, you must specify the knitting mode for the modules you use in the basic pattern.
: For the modules to be inserted when cutting out the shape, the knitting mode is irrelevant. Here you allocate the module group from which the module is to be used to the respective knitting mode in the shape editor or in the Shape attributes dialog box. For practical reasons, this module group is a subgroup of the module group with the name of the respective knitting mode. Which module from the module group is used is decided by the specifications in the sections General module attributes and Max. allowed racking.

General module attributes section

List field
Direction

Select the direction with which the module is to be used during binding-off, narrowing and widening.
: The direction when binding-off has to match the carriage direction from the technical row and when narrowing/widening the narrowing/widening direction.

Input field
Value 1

Enter criterion of the module from a module group which is used or inserted.
: The Meaning of the entry depends on the module type.
A value cannot be entered for jacquard modules.

Input field
Value 2

Criterion for determining the sequence of narrowing modules.
: The Meaning of the entry depends on the module type and on the machine used.
