- Separation into measures and formulas
The measures correspond to the values taken from the fabric or given by the orderer - Measures with Factors
You can use factors (1/4 - 3) for measures in dimensionings. - A dimensioning in the graphics is highlighted by selecting a main row or sub-row in the table.
- functions vice versa as well
- Changing the sorting in the table by drag-and-drop
- Sub-rows
- "Used" marking with identifier for horizontal or vertical usage

(Seam allowance, to achieve target values);
Different per fabric piece; within the fabric piece without difference

9. Stitch Density Tool Window
here: Explain the handling of tool windows
- Prepared stitch densities 1-5, always used in the way
- Table can be saved and loaded separately
Stitch Density - Reference to the New Dimensioned Shape dialog box
Data are applied to this tool window - Results of changing the stitch densities
=> all steppings will be recalculated - Doubling / Transitions of Stitch Density
- Width and height of the raw fabric
10. Knitting Areas tool window
- The purposes of this tool window
Specify the Knitting Mode - Columns

Prepare the Color Sequence
11. Placing the Knitting Ranges
- Assigning knitting ranges to a shape point
- Options when assigning
How to Insert Colored Stripes - Changes via the table of Knitting Ranges
Knitting Areas - Assigning before or after creating the size
Exercise 3 about Placing of Knitting Ranges:
- How to Insert Colored Stripes
- Load the shape "Übung-3.gks“
- Create color stripes in the back according to the following requirements
- Start of the color stripe in red 10 cm above the waistband
- Height of the stripe 10 cm
- Create color stripes in the front, in the back and in the sleeve from the armhole upwards.
The color stripes shall consist of 4 times 6 red and 6 blue rows each.
12. Options for New Shapes of the "Future"
- Language setting
- Change the language at run time
- Settings for the Dimensioned Shape
- These presettings just work on new dimensioned shapes.
New Dimensioned Shape (dialog box) - They do not take effect on open or saved, already existing, dimensioned shapes.
13. Configuration
- Configuration
- Change options
- Measure Unit
- You can change the unit of measurement for the shape at any time.
- All length measures will be recalculated
- Input the measure unit within formulas
- Reference Unit of Stitch Density
- Hand-knit method
- There are no difference in the steppings itself
The way the shape is described by steppings is different.
What's About Hand Knitting? - Point deviations
- Default Settings
- Changes take effect on all fabric pieces
- Only with lines having not modified values
- Exception with fabric pieces of the Collar type
→ The fade-out width does not take effect in collars - Narrowing or Widening After an Even Number of Rows
- This option changes all steppings in the height from any to even or vice versa.
14. Information
- Place information in the hard copy
- Customer, sales order, ...
15. Transfer GKS Shapes to the M1plus
- All fabric pieces of all sizes are contained in one file
- You can save the shape at any time and transfer it then to the M1plus
- For transferring the shapes there are 2 ways available within the M1plus
- Import the dimensioned shape
Create new pattern - Open and position shape
Position it on an existing pattern - How to Bring the Shapes to the M1plus
16. Flip Dimensioning (Context Menu on Dimensioning Arrow)
- Example
..\Demos\BemassungDrehen.gks - Note:
Dimensionings to a point disables to flip it.

- in configuration
- Shape points, dimensionings and fabric pieces will be deleted or added depending to modified options.
- Formulas get modified depending on templates
- Missing measures of formulas get added
- Note:
Check dimensionings whether to be flipped - Configuration
24. Watch out, Typical Errors
- Formulas with a negative result or division by zero
- With a negative result of formulas or with division by „0“ you always will get 0 cm back.
- Shape points without dimensioning after canceling the symmetry in total
Demo: - Cancel the dimension of the chest width dimensioning
- Move the shape point horizontally
- Modify the Armhole Drop dimension
25. Tips
- Creating a gore
Demo: - Open basic pattern
- Define gore
- Line Properties
- Creating striped pattern
- From a certain point over the total of a fabric piece
- Sub-rows with a stepping in height as follows
Demo: Height of the sub-rows 4-8-4 - Restrictions for the start
As the M1plus uses here a module: - No color stripes in the rib
- No widening or narrowing within the rib
