Drawing Tools

The M1plus main program has a Drawing Tools toolbar, which you can position on the screen as desired. You can display or hide them with the Drawing Tools function in the View / Toolbars menu. A check appears in front of the function if the toolbar is activated.

Function

Target

Pencil

Select a freehand line.

Line

Select a straight line.

: In the Tool Properties toolbar, you choose between the options:

  • free direction
  • 45° directions
  • Cycle-Lines
    Select a predefined pattern for Cycle Lines or generate your own and enter the number of repetitions.
  • Step Line
    Enter the step width.

Rectangle/Square

With a rectangle or a square, only select the border or the entire area.

: In the Tool Properties toolbar, you choose between the options:

  • Filled
  • Not Filled
  • Rectangle
  • square

Ellipse/Circle

With a circle or an ellipse, only select the border or the entire area.

: In the Tool Properties toolbar, you choose between the options:

  • Filled
  • Not Filled
  • Ellipse
  • Circle.

Polygon

With a polygon, only select the border or the entire area.

: In the Tool Properties toolbar, you choose between the options:

  • Filled
  • Not Filled
  • open
  • closed
  • free direction
  • 45° directions

Spline

With a spline curve, only select the border or the entire area.
: In the Tool Properties toolbar, you choose between the options:

  • Filled
  • Not Filled
  • open
  • closed

Fill line up to color change

Draw up an area within a color and fill it.
: In the Tool Properties toolbar, you choose between different options .

Fill with the Magic Wand

Select adjacent needle pairs with the same properties.
: In the tool properties toolbar, select the data to be selected and filled (color, module/shape symbol, stitch length) and whether the selection is to grow diagonally.

Fill All

Fill active cursor functions in to one or more existing selections.

Multi-Copy

Draw modules into the pattern many times.
: Enter the vertical distance, horizontal distance and number of repetitions in the Tool Properties toolbar.

Draw with the keyboard

Draw with the keyboard.
: The repetition factor is displayed in the Tool properties toolbar.

Space

Space the suspending rows evenly according to the spacing symbols.

Moving

Move the elements in the pattern or in the Arrangement Editor.
: In the Tool Properties toolbar, you choose between Rows and Cells .

Adjust selection

Modify the size of the selected area.

Rotate Selection

Rotate the selected area around the center.

Inserting a frame

Open the Frames dialog box, in which you generate a colored frame around a selection.

Mirroring

Generate a pattern element from the selected area.

Argyle

Define rhombus, save as pattern element and draw it in.

Text as pattern element

Open the Text in pattern element dialog box, with which you enter text via the keyboard and insert into the pattern as a pattern element.

Insert area/selection

Insert selected area or columns or rows into the pattern.

Delete area/selection

Remove selected area or columns or rows from the pattern.

Adopt modules/color/pattern parameters

Adopt module and/or color or pattern parameters as selection and continue working with it.
: Select the Color and Color and module options in the tool properties toolbar.

Identify and Select Module

Identify and select modules in the pattern.

Find & replace

Open the Find and replace dialog box with the following tabs.

  • Replace or Exchange
  • Search and Select
  • Go to

Toggle Move Shape

Change to the Open and Position Shape (shv, shp, shr) function in the editing mode.
:

  • The button has no affect on the functions in the Move Shape dialog box.
  • In the Tool properties toolbar, you choose on which layer you can move shape parts.

Protect Outside Shape

Protect the area outside the shape when drawing with modules.

Cancel Selection

Remove all selections contained in the pattern.

Cancel Cursor Functions

Switch off all cursor functions.
